Virtas Partners, a boutique Office of the CFO and M&A enablement partner, announces the appointment of John Chapman as Senior Advisor.
John brings significant industry, international, and public company C-Suite and Board experience to our team while also strengthening our New York Metro ecosystem. He further adds to our focus and depth in the Business Services and Pharma/Biotech segments.
John was a member of KPMG for 39 years, where he held many high-profile roles including Global Chair of KPMG’s Pharmaceuticals Practice, Global Chair of KPMG’s Chemical Practice, Senior Audit Partner, and member of the Board of Directors of KPMG LLP and KPMG Americas.
Holding significant industry experience in pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and consumer products, John served as the Global Lead Partner for some of KPMG’s most significant clients, including Pfizer and PepsiCo, where he led global client service teams, interacted with senior C-Suite and Board executives, and provided strategic advice on mergers, acquisition, IPOs, spin-offs, carve-outs, divestitures, and other related transactions. John has extensive experience serving clients in China, Russia and Emerging Markets in Latin America.
While on KPMG’s Board of Directors, John chaired various board committees including Professional Practice, the Ethics & Compliance Committee, and the Compensation & Pension Committee.
Most recently, John served as Board Member, Chair of the Audit Committee, Chair of the Strategy Committee, and Compensation Committee Member for Lannett, Company, Inc., a generic pharmaceuticals company. As an independent director, he Chaired the Strategy Committee of the Board which oversaw the successful restructuring of Lannett, which resulted in taking the company private.
As Senior Advisor, John will actively engage with our PE and corporate clientele across all of our solutions. He will also play a key role in our new Business Services Solution suite, a tailored solution to address the unique needs and capabilities needed to evaluate, on-board, create value, and manage Business Services enterprises.
