Florida, February 13, 2024: Jim Van Hoof has joined Virtas Partners as a Managing Director.

Virtas Partners is a boutique Office of the CFO and M&A enablement partner with tailored solutions and agile execution who delivers value for you.

Van Hoof will be tasked with driving growth for the firm with both private equity firms and corporates.  He also adds to the firm’s growing presence in Florida.   He holds over 30 years of success developing and executing strategic and transformational initiatives during periods of growth, change, and disruption.

In his most recent role of COO and General Counsel, Van Hoof led the 2.5-year effort to take Electriq Power public through a $275M merger with TLG Acquisition One Corp. His contributions were instrumental in preparing Electriq Power for public status, involving a finance transformation from QuickBooks to NetSuite. He also played a key role in building the Board of Directors and internal governance structure, showcasing his proficiency in navigating complex financial and regulatory landscapes.

Prior to his role at Electriq Power, he held strategic positions at Hubbell Incorporated, where he served as Vice President of Growth & Innovation. He played a crucial role in the company’s digital transformation, collaborating with Operations and external distributors to improve operational efficiency and drive innovation. His leadership in creating a stage gate process for R&D products and successfully eliminating unprofitable SKUs contributed significantly to Hubbell’s growth and resilience in the market.

As the Chief Financial Officer of UTC Power Corporation, a division of United Technologies Corporation, Van Hoof led the creation of Finance, IT, and Communications functions. His finance transformation, including a successful EPR implementation, earned UTC Power Gold status in UTC’s quality program. He also spearheaded the development of a large-scale solar project, showcasing his commitment to sustainable and forward-thinking financial strategies.

With a background encompassing international tax, mergers and acquisitions, and operational leadership, Van Hoof is well-positioned to play a pivotal role in our continued growth.

“I once again have the pleasure of bringing someone to the team who was previously a client,” said CEO Neal McNamara. “We worked closely and intensely with Jim and his team on the SPAC transaction at Electriq Power.  The entire Virtas team has a tremendous amount of respect for Jim and we are thrilled that he decided to join us. I can’t think of a better testament to Virtas than when a client is so impressed with the firm that they want to join it!”
