Insights from Galina Wolinetz, who leads our M&A Integration practice, are featured in the opening chapter of DealRoom CEO Kison Patel’s newly published M&A Tactics handbook.  

The first chapter of the book, “The Biggest Challenge in M&A” discusses the importance of well-conceived integration plans. “A successful deal can revolutionize a business overnight, but over half of successful deals fail to meet their projected value. Frequently, they are unable to capture intended synergies, resulting in spin-offs and divestitures down the line. This is largely because those who created the investment thesis, valuation model and intended synergies are not part of the integration team. Ultimately this is where value leaks in an acquisition. People are starting to realize it is all about integration. It can make value or break value.”
