We continue to grow the team at Virtas Partners, adding to our talent base and collective experience set to better serve our clients.
Just as importantly, we are very consciously adding people with good hearts and strong character who will help extend our firm’s unique culture as we grow.
Let me tell you about the extraordinary background of one of our newest associates, Vitas Hrynkiewicz.
Vitas comes to our firm from the NFL’s Los Angles Rams where he played center after a stellar career at Youngstown State. In college, Vitas was a beast on the field, in the weight room and in the classroom—named both All-American and Academic All American, and setting two school weight-lifting records. Joining the Rams as an undrafted free agent last year, he started all the preseason games and graded out as the top-performing Rams lineman in two of the games. Unfortunately, a severe injury ended his promising football career. But the experience he gained is invaluable—playing at the professional level demands personal discipline and commitment to the team, along with extensive weekly preparation to execute the game plan.
Not to mention, phenomenal time management. While playing college football, Vitas earned a double major in Finance and Accounting and graduated Summa Cum Laude. He was a member of the Student Investment Fund, Beta Alpha Psi (Accounting Honor Society), the Economics Club and senior leader of a nonprofit organization that worked with the football team to help autistic children ride horses.
Do you see what I meant in talking about his fit to our Virtas culture?
Vitas also brings to Virtas hands-on experience from three internships, including:
- A bank as a loan syndication intern, helping to create marketing material for a $35 million syndicated mining loan, and using stress test models to determine how cash flow would be impacted by potential debt structures under different economic conditions.
- A growth equity fund as an Equity Research intern, working in the tech, financial and healthcare sectors. There he added to his understanding of fundamental and technical analysis.
- A search fund in sell-side analysis creating teasers and a full DCF model to price an exit of one of the portfolio companies, and creating marketing reports for the steel and granite industry.
Vitas is currently working on a range of projects at Virtas, in Capital Raising, Restructuring and Financial Planning & Analysis. He is also training for the New Jersey Marathon, in his spare time!
I hope you will have the opportunity to meet Vitas in some capacity soon. He is already making a mark on our firm and with our clients.
